Sustainable Cities and Climate Change

Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and Agence Française de Development (AFD)

The aim of the initiative is to promote a low-carbon and climate-resilient development at the city level in Latin America by:

  1. Raising awareness about climate issues among Latin-American local governments and strengthening their capacities in defining low-carbon and climate-resilient development paths;
  2. Reduce the barriers for the implementation of projects with climate co-benefits at urban level

Assistance Criteria

The project must be prioritized by the local authorities. The local authority must then designate a focal point to participate actively in the development of the study (sharing relevant information, following the development and reporting the results to promote the ownership to the project).

Around EUR 100,000-250,000 for the pre-feasibility study of the project with co-benefits in terms of the climate change in the city.
