About
The UMDF provides municipalities and urban entities with tailored technical assistance in urban planning, project preparation, and municipal governance and finance. The UMDF helps cities put in place the building blocks to attract investment and ensure integrated development and enhanced planning. We provide both project-based and comprehensive, long-term support to selected cities participating in our African Cities Program.
Assistance Criteria
When deciding on project funding, the UMDF uses multiple criteria ranging from basic eligibility, sustainability and impact potentials, to prospects for feasibility and financing.
Support
UMDF requests range from small grant requests of USD 20,000-30,000 up to USD 500,000-600,000 depending on the scope of project preparation and technical assistance required.
